Judy arranged a mystery birthday for our 7-year old daughter. Our daughter loves mysteries and wants to be a detective when she grows up. So when she asked for a "mystery" themed birthday, I was fortunate to have found Judy. The girls in attendance, as well as our 9-year old son, were absolutely enthralled and captivated the entire time. Judy's story-telling skills and attention to detail in the days leading up to the big day turned everyone into a believer. Our daughter said this was "the best birthday she has ever had" and her friends all wrote in her birthday book at school about what an amazing time they had. Their faces and expressions in the videos and photos say it all. They continue to cherish the "treasure' they found and our son even kept his findings carefully next to his piggybank. It was an enchanting day we will never forget!
Such a brilliant and original idea for a party! Judy has something really strong going on and is very vested in making it work, adapting to the kids needs and ages (I particularly appreciated how she was able to find the perfect role for the birthday girl's younger sibling). The concept is amazing, mixing up street telling, role play, solving mysteries, and having so much fun together, starting probably two weeks before the party when each guest finds out which character they will be. The kids came all dressed up in their characters, Judy and her assistant were awesome from planning to execution and following up post party with a great video that summarizes it all up and brings back the joy the kids felt during the afternoon. Thank you Judy! To all parents, this is a great opportunity to create breakthrough and fun memories.
We had a great 12th Birthday party with Judy - she easily worked with our limitation of having the party outdoors in a public park and still managed to wrangle nine 12 year olds. She was able to keep them entertained yet focused. Just enough description was provided for the children to be able to dress up and channel their assigned characters without giving any of the story away beforehand. The children loved the props and twists and turns that the story went through. We had a fabulous time!
I throughly enjoyed the SAGA OF THE MISSING FINGERS The young and old actors were exciting. Creating characters far beyond their age. It was an experience to see how imaginative these young actors were. They created such great fun costumes. If you can. Don’t miss hiring them for exciting parties.
These parties are so unique and fun. I've participated in them in-person and then recently saw one on zoom as well. I was so impressed at how it carried over into the virtual space and still managed to be fun, interactive, and exciting. Highly recommend!!
Mystery & Mayhem parties are an unforgettable experience! I recently attended one and I was so impressed by how engaged and excited the kids were for the entire duration of the case. They really lit up and came alive as their characters, and it was great to see them having so much fun. Judy's preparation, passion, and showmanship came together for a very special birthday, and I cannot recommend these parties enough!
I’m so glad that Judy started doing young adult parties. I did a party when I was 14, and I had so much fun. My 21st birthday party was a great success thank to Judy. All my friends had and awesome time and they’d love to do it again! Hope you have more mysteries in the future
I attended one of Judy Rosenblatt's mystery parties and was amazed at how much fun the kids had! They came dressed up as their characters and had a great time playing their roles. Judy has a very special way with young people, and she led the party with great energy and humor. I highly recommend Mystery & Mayhem for a unique experience for your child's next party. A grand time will be had by all!
I saw my first mystery & mayhem performance last week. It was great fun even though I wasn't able to identify the murderer!
I watched a performance the other week on zoom and I was very impressed by the detail that went into it! It was over 2 hours of well thought out content and very fun and interactive with the audience. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to do something special for their kids birthday during covid!
Judy, many thanks for the wonderful Bar Mitzvah entertainment. I'm a hero with my godson, Steven...his friends have not stopped talking about the mystery (which makes him THE most popular guy in his group of friends). I would not have thought you could hold the attention of 45 teenagers for five hours! But you and your charming troupe of actors certainly did...I'm forever grateful!
We attended a zoom version of one the performances. It was a lot of fun. Very interactive and the actors did a great job! This is fun for the whole family.
My daughter had the most amazing 10th birthday party with Judy and Nina! The characters and plot of the Saga of the Missing Fingers are intricately woven. The 4 hours pass by so fast. The kids had a blast. Highly recommend!
I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS DEGREE OF EXCITEMENT FOR ANY PARTY ENTERTAINMENT I’VE HAD FOR ANYONE OF MY THREE CHILDREN. Your professional background in theatre and education and your rapport with and sensitivity to children always make your parties one of the few that are especially desirable in our circle of parents. We ARE THRILLED TO CONTRACT WITH our 10 year old WHO HAS PROMISED TO CLEAN HER ROOM THOROUGLY ON SATURDAYS AND HANG UP HER CLOTHING DAILY IN EXCHANGE FOR “THE SAGA OF THE MISSING FINGERS – PART 111. SO, START WRITING, JUDY. AND, FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW, OUR DEPOSIT IS IN THE MAIL!
Over the last few years, I have had the good fortune to have Ms. Rosenblatt's services in hosting six birthday parties for my three daughters. Ms. Rosenblatt is a dedicated thespian...especially noteworthy have been her "Murder Mystery" parties, in which each child is given a role to play- while blinded to the ultimate outcome. My eldest daughter (age 11) and her classmates have been so captivated by these productions over the years that, as one of the parents remarked, "They have become the most anxiously anticipated social event of the school season". I can highly recommend Ms. Rosenblatt for any performance, whether for children or adults. You will not be disappointed.
When I first called Judy Rosenblatt of Mystery & Mayhem, I had no idea what I was getting into. Now, three years later, I do and I can't begin to tell you how happy I am. Never in all my years of being a parent have I had a party in which the children were so engaged. When Judy and a member of her staff arrived at my apartment for that first party, they were in great good cheer and had an incredibly professional demeanor. I liked them immediately-it was impossible not to. The children did too. The minute the murder mystery started, I was engrossed. Judy had somehow transformed a raucous group of pre-teen girls into accomplished actresses in roughly forty-five minutes. They knew their lines, they spoke with flair, and they were all highly invested in discovering who the "murderer" was. It was quite remarkable-I'd never seen anything like it. Now, every year, we book Cameron's birthday party well in advance and as soon as the girls receive their invitations, they begin planning their costumes. I look forward to the party as well, not just because it is so much fun for the children, but because I have grown to like Judy a good deal. She is a wonderfully kind soul and I feel blessed to have her in our lives. I think anyone who gets to work with her, whether child or adult, is fortunate indeed.
We wanted to thank you for giving us the best “Farewell for the Summer” party our group has had in years. Beside working as a marvelous ice-breaker (which was our original intent) the action of becoming the main characters in a mystery provided what seemed to be cathartic experiences for several of us. We were amazed to find that John (who, as you know, played the psychic) has a wild and dramatic side to him. Gloria (who played the actress Maryvonna Bittner) has suddenly become wildly popular with the guys who had never seen her with her hair down or wearing anything but tailored business suits or jeans. And Leslie (she was Deena Ditz, the street person) who has been talking about joining an amateur theatre company for years, just joined one! We had such fun! So many laughs! And we’re so glad that we hired your photographer; what he caught captures a party I’m sure we’ll be talking about for years – or at least until we do the sequel!
I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful job that you did with Patrick’s party. The way in which you handled the children was truly an inspiration. Many of them had grown attached to you and Jen, and really didn’t want you to leave. You are blessed with quite a gift. We are glad you brought Jennifer along. She was an excellent assisant and such a sweet young woman. Not only was this party fun for all, but it was also a great boost for my son’s self-steem. Your treasure hunt was just what he needed. Please feel free to use my name and number for a reference any time and again, many, many thanks.
Thank you so much for doing my mystery party again for the third year in a row. I think this was the best mystery. I was even scarier and funnier than the other ones and the characters were so interesting and unusual. ? Everyone was talking about it in school all week and some of the kids are starting to write a mystery. Will you read it if we send it to you? And some of them want to know how you think up the names so if you could call me that would be good. Laura wants to do Part 1 next year when she turns 8 and mom says she can if she keeps her room clean all year. If she does, do you think I could be the murderer if my mother says it’s o.k.? You are a great actress and writer. Thank you for my party being so successful.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my grand-daughter's Bat Mitzvah such an incredible success. From the moment I called your company, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. Nor was I disappointed during the planning of the event, as you were always sensitive to our needs, had incredible patience with our many, many questions, and went above and beyond what you had promised us. I want to thank you from the go when your staff arrived on the big day, well ahead of time, fully prepared and in complete control. I had no doubt that the affair would be masterfully run. But when you began your dramatic opening monologue, and engaged a group of seventy-five hormonal male and female teens so thoroughly for well over four hours, I marvelled. Your theatrical skill and your great sensitivity to children translated into an event that has been talked about non-stop ever since. You will doubtless, (and may already have), be contacted by several parents who were thrilled to hear that you have a menu of different mysteries. You have started a creative trend among our community of parents who are overjoyed to have an event that is so unusually creative and compelling-one that stimulates, excites, and involves their children to an unusual degree, and is at the same time so incredibly affordable. We cannot thank you enough.
